Jacob Berger is a vocalist, composer, and music educator based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Jacob is graduate of Carnegie Mellon University where they studied voice with Professor Daniel Teadt. Jacob graduated at the top of their class, earning both a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Voice Performance and a K-12 Music Education Certification.

As a performer, Jacob seeks to explore the intersection of their queer identity with the Classical vocal cannon, performing a wide range of Classical music spanning from baroque opera to new works.

As a composer, Jacob enjoys highlighting natural and formulaic musical impulses, incorporating elements of aleatoricism and indeterminacy into their writing.

In the classroom Jacob seeks to foster a welcoming and loving learning environment for all students, with a focus on bringing out the inherent musicality that lives within every body. Their teaching takes a full-body kinesthetic approach to musicking and places emphasis on natural gestures and authentic sounds.
